In addition to homes for private and shared ownership and social housing, the scheme features shops, restaurants and cafes, alongside artisan food producers and wholesalers located at ground level and in adjacent railway arches, the latter part of the wider regeneration along Southwark’s ‘Low Line’.
The scheme involved the redesign of a reinforced concrete frame, and the structural design was carried out by Legendre UK’s technical team in collaboration with Terrell. The thermal model of the building ensured maximum energy efficiency.
The external envelope of the building comprises brickworks and aluminium curtain walls at ground floor, while composite windows and industrial cladding were used on the upper floors. This combination of materials not only ensures an aesthetically pleasing look but also ensures the durability and sustainability of the building.
